Harewood West Substation Transformer Addition
British Columbia Transmission Corporation. – Addition of 40 MVA, 115/25 kV transformer no 3 at Harewood West Substation, BC. Construction of transformer pad, containment, with necessary switching, protection and upgrading of grounding grid as per BCTC standard and extension of lighting shield.

South Nanaimo Substation
British Columbia Transmission Corporation. – Construction of a new substation at Nanaimo, BC, Canada. Work included construction of complete substation, substation design, equipment selection, installation of 75MVA, 230/115 kV autotransformer, 2X30 MVA, 115/25 kV transformers with bay extension, switching and protection and grounding grid, as per BCTC specifications.

Custer Substation Transformer Addition
British Columbia Transmission Corporation. – Addition of one 40 MVA, 230/115 kV transformer at Custer Substation, British Columbia, Canada. Supply, installation and commissioning of switching and protection of a newly added transformer.

Horne Payne Substation Transformers Addition
British Columbia Transmission Corporation. – Addition of two 84 MVA, 230/12 kV transformers, with feeders addition for newly added transformers. Work included construction of transformer pad, containment, substation design, equipment selection, bay extension, installation, testing and commissioning and project management for the initiation to closing.

Nicola Substation Transformer Addition
British Columbia Transmission Corporation. – Addition of one 500/230 kV autotransformer at Nicola Substation (NIC), with 500 kV and 230 kV switching facilities, British Columbia, Canada. Work included construction of transformer pad, containment, substation design, equipment selection, bay extension, installation, testing and commissioning and project management for the initiation to closing.

Champlain-Hudson Power Express Project (CHPE)
Transmission Developers Inc. (TDI), $ 1.9 billion, 385-mile, 1,000-megawatt transmission line carrying hydro and wind power from Quebec, Canada to New York metro area and Connecticut. The project is an innovative High Voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmission line that will bring safe, secure, affordable, renewable power to the United States. The cable that will be placed in waterways or buried along railway routes to minimize impacts to local communities and the environment.

This project has received authorization from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to charge negotiated rates for the sale of transmission rights on the proposed line.

R K Energy Engineering is responsible for prefeasibility and feasibility studies, economic, environmental and technical modeling of the line, complete project development, detailed engineering design, contractors pre-qualification and selection, equipment selection, project management and execution, including power purchase and sale agreements.

Hydro One/Hydro-Québec Inter-confection
Hydro One's $124-million, investment to upgrade its interconnection with Quebec, The project involves building two new 230 kilovolt (kV) transmission lines between Hawthorne Transformer Station (TS), in Ottawa and The Hydro Québec electrical transmission system using existing rights of way – detailed technical and economic analysis, complete development including detailed design, equipment selection, proposal and contract document preparation, contractor selection, construction supervision and project management.

Construction of the Toronto Midtown Transmission Reinforcement Project (“Midtown Project”)
Hydro One Networks Inc. and Toronto Hydro Electric System Limited - $105 million, the work involves constructing and/or renewing of 115kV, 5.3 km of overhead and underground transmission line facilities in the City of Toronto, installation of three circuit 115 KV overhead line of approximately 1.7 Km, replacement of 2.2 Km, three underground cable circuit in a rock tunnel, at a depth of 60 to 70 meters. A new 115 kV circuit breaker will be installed at Leaside substation.

Eastern Mississauga Reinforcement Project
Hydro One Networks Inc. – $1.2million, 230 kV underground transmission lines to reinforce the electricity supply in the City of Mississauga, Toronto. Work involves feasibility study, detailed design, equipment selection, construction and project management.

Northwest Ontario and Northeast Ontario Transmission Line Study
Ontario Ministry of Energy – Prefeasibilty study for the development of renewable energy resources in Northwest Ontario and Northeast Ontario regions and the requirements for development of transmission facility and the possible routes and their cost.

Far North Transmission Line Study, Conawapa - Sudbury
Ontario Ministry of Energy – Prefeasibility study and feasibility study of the line with the estimated costs associated with the route, technical demands, existing and potential load demands and potential hydro and wind power resources in the vicinity of the route. Study also assesses existing environmental conditions and environmental impact and Impact to affected First Nations.

Timmins – Iroqouis Falls Transmission Line Construction
Hydro One Networks Inc. – 230 kV, 72 Km overhead transmission line construction between Iroqouis Fall substation and Timmins substation, Ontario. Work involved route selection, detailed design, equipment selection, construction and project management.

St. Thomas – Woodstock Transmission Line Construction
Hydro One Networks Inc. – 230 kV, 57Km overhead transmission line construction between St. Thomas and Woodstock substations, Ontario. Work involved route selection, detailed design, equipment selection, construction and project management.

Columbia Valley Transmission Project
British Columbia Transmission Corporation. – The proposed 230 kV overhead transmission line, approximately 125 km. long, will connect the existing Invermere Substation to a proposed new substation – Kicking Horse Substation British Columbia, Canada. Work involved route selection, detailed design, equipment selection, construction and project management.

Malaspina – Dunsmuir, HVDC Submarine Cables Addition
British Columbia Transmission Corporation. – Addition of one 500 kV, bi-pole High Voltage Direct Current Submarine Cable between Malaspina Substation (MSA) near Pender Harbour to Dunsmuir Substation (DMR) near Parksville on Vancouver Island with necessary civil structures, switching and protection.
